Tinubu wins presidential election: Declares victory for all

The Presidential Candidate of the All-Progressive Congress, (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu has been declared the winner of the 2023 Presidential election conducted on February 25. He has since received the certificate of return and delivered an acceptance speech, calling on all members of opposition parties to join him in working together for the good of the country.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman and Chief Returning Officer for the February 25 presidential election, Professor Mahmood Yakubu declared him the winner at 4:10 am with a total vote of 8,794,726 to defeat 17 candidates in the presidential election.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and a former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar followed closely with a total vote of 6,984,520.
Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi clinched the third spot with 6,101,533 votes.
Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) came fourth with a total of 1,496,687 votes.
Meanwhile, members of several opposition parties have called for the cancellation of the election due to what they described as major irregularities in the electoral system.
