Akinwumi Adesina's Integrity Intact!

Nigeria's Dr Akinwunmi Adesina and President of African Development Bank  (AfDB), has been exonerated and cleared of the charges of corruption and preferential treatment alleged by some whistleblowers. Earlier in the wake of the allegations, Adesina got a clean slate from the ethics committee of the bank. However, the United States of America called for further investigations by an independent body headed by the former President of Ireland, Mary Robinson.
Robinson and the experts on the panel, World Bank's integrity Vice President, Leonard McCarthy, and Chief Justice Hassan Jallow of the Gambia, aligned with the findings of the ethics committee of the bank that Adesina is innocent, and therefore dismissed the 16 whistleblower allegations against him.
The report claimed that the bank had witnessed poor management of the human resource, governance and favouritism under Adesina's administration. Apart from providing technical assistance for development projects and programmes, the AfDB promotes the investment of public and private capital for development.
Nigeria's Dr Akinwunmi Adesina and former minister of Agriculture is held in high esteem by President Muhammadu Buhari's administration. Under his watch as the minister of Agriculture, Nigeria witnessed an immense transformation in the sector. Dr Akinwumi Adesina is the first Nigerian at the seat of power at the Africa Development Bank.
