Chadwick Boseman dies at 43
Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman has lost his battle to cancer. A statement on his Twitter account confirmed his demise after a protracted fight against colon cancer on August 28, 2020. The actor was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2016. Chadwick was strong in battle, as he persevered through surgeries and chemotherapy treatments and got involved in many productions (Da5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom) in the last four years.
43-year-old Chadwick was born and raised in South Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing from Howard University. Fans remember him for his superlative performance as King T'challa in Black Panther. As the entertainment industry mourns his passing, actors acknowledge his legacy, which they say will "live on-screen forever."
