Akinwumi Adesina is back as AfDB President

The Board of Governors of the African Development Bank AfdB has re-elected Dr Akinwumi Adesina as the President of the African Development Bank. He was re-elected at the virtual annual meeting holding in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Recall that Dr Adesina was exonerated and cleared of the charges of corruption and preferential treatment alleged by some whistleblowers. The ethics committee of the bank refuted the allegations. Still, the United States of America appointed an independent body headed by the former President of Ireland, Mary Robinson to go a step further. Robinson's panel cleared Nigeria's Akinwunmi of all charges.
